TorBox's Voucher system allows you to purchase, redeem, and view your vouchers, as well as gift vouchers to other TorBox users, very easily. You can access the Voucher system by going here and clicking the "Vouchers" button which will show you the Vouchers panel, or you may go here which will take you there directly.
Vouchers are a great way to gift TorBox premium status to friends or family, or even to give away! Below is some information that may be helpful when using the Voucher system.
Purchasing Vouchers
Vouchers may be purchased with card, but any payments over $500 USD, will need to be handled manually. If you need to purchase an order of vouchers with this value or higher, contact us first.
There is a discount when buying many vouchers. Discounts go as follows:
0-10 vouchers = 0% discount
11-50 vouchers = 10% discount
51-100 vouchers = 20% discount
Over 100 vouchers = 30% discount
You may send your voucher purchase to an email recipient. When the purchase is complete, the voucher shows up on both yours and the recipients TorBox account under the "My Vouchers" section.
The email must match the recipient's TorBox email. Any difference will not be recognized, and will not allow them access.
The recipient must have a TorBox account before purchasing, otherwise, it will not be automatically sent to them.
In either case of failure, you are free to still send them the Voucher code for redemption.
Referral bonuses are not given when purchasing a Voucher.
This transaction does count as your first purchase however (if you have never received your Referral bonus yet). You can read more about the referral system here.
Redeeming Vouchers
Anyone may redeem a Voucher, even if they are not a recipient or the owner of the voucher. This allows for very high flexibility, but may also mean that Vouchers can be leaked by owners of the Voucher if irresponsible use of the Voucher is found. It is the responsibility of the Voucher's owner to protect the incorrect redemption of Vouchers. TorBox will not revert or refund any Vouchers mistakenly claimed, or not claimed by the correct recipient. Read here for more information.
There is a rate limit on redeeming vouchers to prevent the brute forcing of redeeming Vouchers. While successful redemption by brute force is highly unlikely, TorBox wants to protect customer's Vouchers as much as possible from this case.
TorBox premium time is prorated when redeeming a voucher, just like all TorBox subscription upgrades or downgrades.
If you are on the Essential Plan, and redeem a Pro Plan voucher, your account will immediately be upgraded to Pro, and your remaining Essential time will be converted to Pro.
This also is the same when downgrading. If you are on the Pro Plan, and redeem an Essential Plan Voucher, your account will be immediately downgraded to Essential and your remaining Pro time will be converted to Essential.
Referral bonuses are not given when redeeming a voucher, and subsequently does not count as a purchase if redeemed. You may still be eligible for a referral bonus, after the redemption of a Voucher. Read more about the referral system here.
My Vouchers
This section of the panel shows what Vouchers you have access to. It gives information about the Voucher, such as, if it was redeemed, who it was redeemed by (their internal ID), when it was purchased, and what kind of Voucher it is.
If you added a recipient to the purchase of the Voucher, they will see the Voucher in this section of the panel.
There are easy to use controls for copying or easily redeeming a Voucher.
