You may notice, especially when purchasing many subscriptions, different plans, or getting free time on your account (due to referrals or other ways), that your account premium time increases, or decreases differently than your subscription.
If you are subscribed, on Chargebee for example, you are billed at the same time every month, or every year. This means that if you subscribe on the first of the month on April, then on May 1st, you will be billed again. But wait, my TorBox account time says that my time expires May 2nd! Why is that? It's because the payment system and the account system are de-synced on purpose for great flexibility.
How it works:
When you pay for a subscription, you aren't paying for monthly access like on another platform such as Patreon, where you paid for access from May 1st, to June 1st. Instead, with TorBox, you are paying for days, added to your account, automatically. When your subscription payment goes through, TorBox gives your account 31 days of time. If you upgraded or downgraded your account, TorBox will also grant your account prorated days depending on the value of your new subscription. This means that if you paid for 31 days of Pro and you were already on Essential with 9 days left, you got 31 days of Pro + 3 days of Pro thanks to your prorated Essential time. In this example, if your subscription renews on the 1st of June, you will still be billed on the 1st of June, regardless of the fact you now have 34 days left on your account.
Why is it like this?
We do subscriptions like this for the most flexibility. This allows you to stack subscriptions, add additional time to your account using one time purchases, and pay using different payment methods. While it can be a little confusing, there are ways to make sure you aren't wasting the days on your TorBox account.
What to do:
If you have a subscription using Chargebee, you can pause your subscription for until your TorBox account time runs out, then simply resume your subscription again when you want to start paying.
Switch from subscriptions to one time payments. This allows you to pay when you want, releasing you from the complexities of figuring out when to pause or un-pause your subscription.
Simply continue. Just let it be! If you ever cancel your subscription your additional time that you had on your account will get used up.
We don't offer refunds for forgetting to pause, or continued billing, even if you still have time on your account. We also don't offer refunds if you forgot to cancel your subscription and it continues to bill you. Keep on top of your account!
