What is Airlock?
Airlock is permanent storage for your TorBox account. Simply mark files to be added to Airlock and it'll keep them away from the TorBox 30 day retention policy!
Files in your Airlock will never be removed from TorBox due to inactivity, unlike normal files which are deleted 30 days after the last download. This allows you to keep files around that you suspect may be deleted, or files that you may want to keep for yourself.
This is great for files which are older, may be removed from the internet, or simply hold a place in your heart. Whatever the reason, simply mark it as part of your Airlock and they will never be deleted.
Features
Airlocked files are still cached for the rest of the TorBox user base to download. Even if multiple users share the same file, if just one user has it Airlocked on their account, it will not be deleted after 30 days of inactivity.
Airlocked items still function the exact same as any normal cached file, except they'll never disappear as long as they're in your Airlock.
This is a free feature for all paid users, with each tier receiving a different amount of Airlock space. Current tier amounts are as follows:
Pro: 1TB
Standard 500GB
Essential: 300GB
Free: 0GB
Marking a file as Airlocked is as simple as a single button press, within seconds you can Airlock a file.
You can filter Airlocked files on your dashboard, meaning if you do or don't want to view them, you're able to do so.
Airlocked files will be marked on your dashboard in a very distinctive badge (which includes a fancy animation).
Normal files do not count towards your Airlock usage.
Airlock usage can be seen in the avatar panel in the top right of your TorBox Dashboard.
Important Notes
If you downgrade your subscription or your subscription lapses payment, you will be asked to purge enough files to get back to your limit, and you will not be able to Airlock any further files. You will have 7 days to manage your Airlock space and make these changes, we will also send you notifications during this to remind you.
After 7 days of being over your Airlock limit, ALL of your accounts Airlock files will automatically be removed from your Airlock. They will NOT be deleted from your account, but they will then be treated as normal files that will expire after 30 days of inactivity.
Keep in mind that if an Airlocked file resumes being a normal file (you remove it from your Airlock), the last download will count as the starting point of the 30 day countdown. This means that if the last download was 29 days ago, the file will only have 24 hours of retention left when removed from Airlock. We highly recommend that you keep a backup of all Airlocked files. This is something that will not change.
You will not be able to add files larger than your available Airlock space remaining. For example, if you have used 200GB out of 300GB in your Airlock, and you attempt to add a 150GB file, you will not be allowed to do so. You are recommended to purge some files from your Airlock to make the space required.
