What Is A Satellite?

It's named that way cause it sounds cool.

Updated over a week ago

Simply, a satellite is just another name for a server. It just sounds cooler. Satellites make up a network that downloads and serves files to TorBox users. They are all based off of space-y names, which also sounds cool. You don't really interact with the satellites often directly but they are responsible for all the heavy lifting on TorBox.

You can test most of the satellites on the speed test site.

Whenever you are using the TorBox website or mobile app, you are connecting to our Satellite Network, or relay as we call it internally. This allows you to receive updates about your torrents as well as hang out with everyone else connected! You can view a live count how many others are connected with you just by taking a look at your dashboard. Eventually we want to add a few small social features such as a music listening pod, or a chat pod all on the Satellite Network! This will allow you to engage with other users of the TorBox space while waiting for your downloads to complete!
