What Private Trackers Are Allowed?

For the most part, all private trackers, even the most stringent, are able to be used on TorBox.

Updated this week

All private trackers will work with TorBox. That's the gist of it. We promise you won't be banned from your use of TorBox on your beloved private tracker.

Using private trackers is your own risk. While it's difficult to be banned using TorBox on your private tracker, it is possible. Usually it boils down to not telling your tracker you are using TorBox.

How?

TorBox is the only torrent solution that allows all private trackers and will work with all private trackers (whether they like it or not). Here are a few reasons why:

  • We don't use any weird torrent clients. We use unmodified qBittorrent v5.0.0, which is the most popular torrent client in the world. We don't change how qBittorrent works, nor do we add any leeching or cheating hacks to our instances. If you are really curious, this is the docker container we use.

    • Other popular debrids use cheat clients that don't properly announce leeching or seeding numbers, or fake the numbers, which is one of the quickest ways to get banned from even the most tame of trackers.

    • This is undetectable, as it would be impossible to ban everyone using standard qBittorrent.

  • We (soon) allow you to purchase a dedicated IP that all of your torrents announce through, making TorBox look like a standard seedbox to your tracker.

  • By limiting access to private torrents to paid users only, it reduces the amount of risk of mass users being detected by having the same IP (which is easily detectable).

How Does Cache Work With Private Trackers?

If it is already cached, your key never touches the torrent client, meaning that your tracker never even knew that you downloaded it in the first place. Someone already used their ratio to download the torrent, meaning you don't have to. This also means that they received the seeding credit for the same torrent, meaning you don't get any either.

Some trackers don't like this, so we are adding a feature very soon that allows you to bypass the cache when adding a torrent, which will download and seed it, even if it is already cached. This will hopefully allow some trackers to ease up and even accept TorBox as a valid seedbox for private torrents, even though TorBox is a "cloud torrent client".

My Tracker Requires An IP!

No worries! We are soon releasing a paid addon that will give you your very own dedicated IP that you can tell your tracker(s). This means that all of your torrents will come from the same IP, as long as you have the addon, meaning that you never have to update or change the settings in your tracker. This also means that no other user has the possibility of using the same IP, possibly leading to a ban. This is a fool proof solution, and will be available very soon!

If You Get Asked Questions About Your Client (TorBox)

Simply link the admin (or others) to this article. If you have questions about TorBox, here’s a straightforward answer: We prioritize transparency and user privacy. Our setup uses the standard qBittorrent v5.0.0, with no modifications. We ensure all user data and keys are kept secure within our internal system, accessible only to TorBox servers and admins. This means that no one outside the TorBox network can access the torrent clients or user keys.

Additionally, we don’t log any user activity or information. As a result, there’s no risk of user data being compromised or tracker information being exposed through TorBox. We also are well aware of private tracker rules, and have created ways for users to abide by them to use said trackers.

Tested Trackers

These are trackers tested by users and verified by TorBox admins, that have said that no issues have arisen from using TorBox with these trackers:

No private tracker officially supports TorBox! Do not say that you are using TorBox for seeding, otherwise you are at risk for a ban.
