Download Statuses

Different than download labels, give even more information about what your download is doing.

Updated over 2 months ago

This is the status label on the download that says "Currrently ________". This will show for all downloads on your TorBox dashboard, and gives you detailed information about what is going on with your download. This is different than the Download Labels as this is much more detailed.

Downloading

Available on torrents, Usenet downloads, and web downloads.

This one might be pretty obvious. This means your download is downloading to the TorBox servers from whatever source you got it from. This process is usually fast, but can also be slow depending on the origin of the files, the peers or seeds, or the state of the TorBox servers. While active on the TorBox dashboard, this download will be updated constantly with the download speed, seeds and peers (if applicable), ETA, and progress.

Stalled (No seeds)

Available only on torrents.

The torrent is attempting to download but there are no seeds available to download from. This can mean that either there are legitimately no seeds and you should find a better torrent, or that the server is having a hard time connecting to a possibly limited amount of seeds. While this isn't an error, we recommend taking some action such as finding a new torrent to download. It is important to mention that this state means it got past the "MetaDL" state meaning that this torrent is somewhat seeded at some point as a peer has the metadata. This is a good sign, and if you are willing to wait, you should as a seed is likely to pop up at some point.

Uploading

Available only on torrents.

This means that this torrent is actively uploading or seeding to peers. This is paired with your download having some sort of upload speed. This updates your ratio and your peers while you are uploading.

Uploading (No Peers)

Available only on torrents.

This means that the torrent is in the uploading state, but doesn't have any peers to upload to. When this is the case, there will be no upload speed, and no peers available to seed to. This isn't an error.

MetaDL

Available only on torrents.

The torrent client is attempting to fetch info about this torrent from the swarm. This is a necessary step for being able to download a torrent. If a torrent has no seeds at all, this will likely show as well, rather than the "Stalled (No seeds)". We would recommend either waiting for a seed to appear, or finding a new torrent.

Paused

Available on torrents and Usenet downloads.

This download is paused, which means it can be resumed again by the owner of the download. Seeding or cached downloads are not able to be paused or resumed.

Failed

Available on torrents, Usenet downloads, and web downloads.

This is an error meaning that the download has failed to complete the downloading process for some reason. This can be a server error, a missing encryption key, missing par2 files, or anything else. Usually this will be paired with a more descriptive error and the download becoming greyed out and Inactive.

Failed (Processing)

Available on torrents, Usenet downloads, and web downloads.

This is an error meaning that the download has failed to process, which is a mandatory TorBox procedure. When this happens, your best bet is to delete, and re-add the download. The error isn't common, but if a server is down, or a bug happened, this error can be present. You may want to contact support if this continues to happen so we can fix the issue.
