Updated over 2 months ago

Cyberduck is one of the most popular, as well as the easiest way to use the Torbox FTP. This guide will walk you through the simple steps to access the FTP over Cyberduck. There are other FTP apps we will also go over in other guides.

Prerequisites

  • Have files in your TorBox account

Supported Devices

  • MacOS computers

  • Windows computers

Read-Only

TorBox has a read-only filesystem! You cannot upload or edit files inside of TorBox. You are also not able to rename, or delete files through the FTP server.

Text Guide

  1. Make sure you have files on your TorBox account. You will still be able to login, but you won't be able to actually try it!

  2. Download Cyberduck from their download page here. They will ask you for a donation, but the software is inherently free, but it provides a lot of awesome features, so we would recommend donating if you like the software.

  3. Once Cyberduck is fully installed, there will a Open Connection button. Click this and a new window will open.

  4. In this window there will a drop down selector with "FTP (File Transfer Protocol)" shown first. Click on this and switch it to "FTP-SSL (Explicit AUTH TLS)".

  5. Now that you have set the type to FTP-SSL, type "ftp.torbox.app" into the Server text box. Keep the Port set to 21. Your window should now look like the below screenshot:

  6. Now you can enter your FTP credentials. These are the same credentials you use to login to the TorBox website. For Username enter your TorBox email. For Password enter your TorBox password.

  7. Cyberduck click "Connect". Cyberduck will attempt to connect, and if everything looks good, the window will close, and your files will be in the main window below!

  8. To start downloading to your device, you can either right click on the folder and click "Download", or double click on a file, and it will begin transferring.

  9. To reconnect in the future, click the clock icon in the top left, and your connection will be saved there. Simply double click it, and it will reconnect you!
