How Can I Receive Notifications?

You can receive TorBox notifications in many different and unique ways. Being informed about your account is necessary.

Updated over a week ago

You want to know what happens with your TorBox account as well as your downloads. No worries, TorBox has multiple ways to get push notifications so you never miss a thing. You can configure all of these settings in the TorBox settings page.

To disable any of these notification services, simply head to the settings page, and flip the switch to the off position of any notification service you do not like.

You can test your notification setup by clicking on the Send Test Notification button in the settings page.

Web Notifications

Web Notifications are on by default. Notifications are sent to your browser and you are notified by notification popups while on the Dashboard. These notifications are received instantly, and there is no delay. This is the most common way of getting notifications. The only drawback is that you have to be there to look at them as they are happening. If you are often on the dashboard, this isn't a big deal.

Email Notifications

Email Notifications are off by default to reduce spam to your mailbox. Notifications are sent straight to your inbox so you will be notified as soon as you get the email. All emails regarding notifications are sent by [email protected] so add that to your favorites. This is the easiest way to receive push notifications anywhere.

Mobile Notifications

Mobile Notifications are on by default. Notifications are sent to your mobile device (if you have the TorBox companion app installed and are logged in). Everyone carries around their phones, so getting notifications straight to your device is likely the fastest way to receive notifications for most people. It does require you to install the app from the Google Play Store or App Store.

RSS Feed Notifications

RSS Notifications are on by default. Notifications are added to your own personal RSS feed for those of you who use RSS feed readers. Notifications are instantly added to the RSS feed without any delay. It's a sadly dying art, but still serves it's purpose. Easily integrate into any RSS Feed reader.

Discord Notifications

Discord Notifications are on by default. If you are often on Discord, and have it installed on many devices, this can easily be the best way to receive notifications. Simply make sure your Discord account is linked to TorBox, and make sure the TorBox Discord bot is in a server you are also a part of. You will then begin to receive notifications from the bot in your DM's!

Telegram Notifications

Telegram Notifications are on by default. If you are often on Telegram, the TorBox Telegram bot can message you when you get a notification. Simply login to Telegram through TorBox, making sure you allow messages from the bot. You will then begin to receive notifications from the bot in your messages!

JDownloader Notifications

JDownloader Notifications are on by default. JDownloader2, a popular download manager with support for TorBox, which also has notifications through their app, allows for notifications. Simply add TorBox through the plugin in the account manager, and you will begin to receive notifications while the JDownloader2 app is open.

Webhook Notifications

Webhook Notifications are off by default. If you enable these, make sure you also set the webhook URL in the integration settings section. There is official support for Discord and Slack webhooks. This is good for programmable notifications where they can be integrated into pretty much anything.
