TorBox T3

TorBox's S3-Compatible service.

T3 (TorBox Tunneled Transfer) is TorBox's S3 Compatible service, similar to those like Amazon's S3, Cloudflare's R2 and Backblaze's B2. T3 works with all software that works with S3, meaning any application you are currently using for S3 will work with T3. The striking difference is that currently, TorBox's T3 is Read Only, which means you can only download and view files, you cannot upload files through T3 from your computer to TorBox.

For starters, below is all the relevant information needed in order to login and setup our T3 integration with your favorite supported client!

  • Protocol: S3 (compatible)

  • Port: 443

  • Access Key ID: Your TorBox Auth ID

    • To find your Auth ID, view the settings page, and under your email there will be a code. You may copy this and use this as your Auth ID.

    • This same Auth ID is also used in the TorBox News Server as your username.

  • Secret Access Key: Your TorBox API Key

  • Signatures: If prompted (i.e in rclone), please ensure you utilize "other-v2-signature", this should be the default option.

Using the above information, you should be able to use our T3 service with any client that supports S3!

Features

Wide Compatibility

Unlike the WebDAV service, T3 requires 3rd party software to operate. Here are some good applications you can use on your server/devices to use T3. If you find any issues with the T3 service while using any of these applications, please don't hesitate to contact us.

Very fast download speeds

Built very similarly to our WebDAV service, T3 is extremely fast at indexing, and downloading files.

Access all of your TorBox files using a single protocol

Similar to our WebDAV service, all you need is a single connection and you can transfer any of your TorBox files to your devices.

Increased Organization

Because you can tag files in TorBox, T3 can read those tags, and group files into their own buckets based on the tag. This is also similar to our WebDAV, just a different protocol.

Important Notes

Tags are buckets

If you have added a tag to your TorBox files, they will be grouped into their necessary buckets. For example, if you have a tag named "pictures", there will be the following buckets:

  • torbox

  • pictures

Inside "torbox" will be your general files (untagged files), and inside "pictures" will be all the files you tagged with the tag "pictures".

Refreshing

T3 refreshes every 15 minutes. This is a limitation we had to impose due to the insane amount of database requests T3 requires. Unlike WebDAV, you are not able to refresh.

File Serving

Currently, T3 is only served over CloudFlare (which may potentially cause some result caching issues), but we're working on a full rollout on all of our available CDNs which will solve most of the common issues!
