Where To Get Crypto For Use On TorBox
Where To Get Crypto For Use On TorBox

Crypto is a somewhat new payment option for a lot of people. This guide will go over where and how to easily buy crypto for use on TorBox

Updated over 2 months ago

Cryptocurrencies are a newer payment method, different than the standard card payments most people are used to. On TorBox, we charge an additional 5% fee due to fees put onto us from our payment providers, so crypto is a good alternative if you want to skip those fees. TorBox also makes more from crypto purchases, so it's a win-win for everyone.

Depending on how familiar you are with crypto currencies, buying crypto may not be very difficult for you. For new users, buying crypto may seem daunting, or risky, but this guide will go over the best places to purchase crypto based off of country and fees.

Binance

The best place to purchase crypto outside of the US is Binance. Binance is an exchange which allows you to link your debit card, credit card, or bank account, and purchase crypto to a wallet managed by Binance. This makes it very easy to purchase crypto. Binance also has a feature called Binance Pay which allows you to easily send TorBox crypto with zero fees instantly. This is why it is number one on our list.

  • Binance has KYC verification which means you need to go through a verification process which requires your real full name, address and ID (of any kind).

  • Binance Pay has zero fees which makes it very cheap (other than acquiring the crypto in the first place).

  • Binance is one of the largest exchanges and you can use it for other things outside of TorBox.

  • You can read about Binance's general fees here, which is usually 0%.

  • Has a nice mobile app for on-the-go management, paying and receiving.

  • Comes with a wallet which allows you to use it for other things than just TorBox.

MoonPay

Next is MoonPay, which allows you to easily purchase crypto with low fees. MoonPay is relatively new but is very easy to use and simple to setup. MoonPay allows you to pay with debit and credit cards, as well as PayPal and bank transfers. This makes it very easy to buy cryptos of all types.

  • MoonPay has KYC verification which means you need to go through a verification process which requires your real full name, address and ID (of any kind). You can read more about that here.

  • MoonPay is a bit newer than Binance, but is still very safe and reliable to use.

  • Not a proper exchange, meaning that you need your own wallet for most use cases, but if sending directly to TorBox, you can buy exactly what you need and send it.

  • MoonPay requires a minimum purchase of $30 to begin a transaction, making it not viable for small purchases.

Shapeshift

Shapeshift is next, which allows you to easily buy crypto and send it anywhere nearly instantly with low fees. Shapeshift is also a relatively new platform, but is very popular. Shapeshift allows you to purchase crypto using Apple Pay, Google Pay, debit and credit cards, bank, ACH transfer, Skrill, and Neteller. Rather than being it's own payment gateway, Shapeshift connects you to other gateways which processes and transfers the crypto for you.

  • Shapeshift does not require KYC to purchase crypto making it extremely private.

  • Unlike other sites, Shapeshift allows you to purchase crypto from other users rather than Shapeshift itself, which means there are little to no fees, but introduces some risk (although extremely minimal).

  • Not a proper exchange, meaning that you need your own wallet for most use cases, but if sending directly to TorBox, you can buy exactly what you need and send it.

Crypto.com

Crypto.com is one of the most well-known exchanges in the world which allows you to purchase crypto easily and safely with very low fees. Crypto.com allows you to purchase crypto using debit and credit cards, as well as bank and ACH transfers. It's just like Binance, Crypto.com is an exchange which includes a wallet for your own use.

  • Crypto.com requires KYC verification to purchase crypto currencies. You can read more about that here.

  • Crypto.com has some of the lowest fees of any exchange and even has zero fees for some purchases. You can read more about that here.

Coinbase

Coinbase is the best way to purchase crypto inside of the US. It has more features than the US version of Binance and has lower fees. It is a long-standing exchange and gives you a wallet which you can purchase nearly any crypto currency under the sun. Coinbase allows you to purchase using debit cards, PayPal, ACH transfers and standard bank.

  • Coinbase requires KYC verification to purchase crypto. You can read more about that here.

  • Coinbase gives you a wallet which means no other software or services is needed as it is an exchange.

  • Coinbase has some high fees when purchasing crypto currencies, as well as sending, but in our opinion, it is worth it due to all of the features and ease of use you get. If you want lower fees, check out some options below.
