What Emails Are Allowed To Sign Up On TorBox?

We allow nearly any email to sign up, but block the suspicious ones due to abuse.

Updated over a month ago

Allowed Emails

  • Large email providers and their aliases such as @gmail.com, @outlook.com, @icloud.com, etc.

  • Privacy or alias email providers and their aliases such as @duck.com, @simplelogin.com, @mozmail.com, etc.

  • Custom domains such as @deviniscool.com, @ilovetorbox.com, @hamborgereater.com, etc. (if not well known, it will be monitored for multiple accounts, and reported to admins if necessary automatically).

Disallowed Emails

  • Any domains created on temporary email services (10minutemail, temp-mail, etc). These are filtered using custom lists found from around the internet, as well as double checked using an API which works with nearly 99.99% accuracy.

  • Known abusive emails. Commonly used emails around the internet that are known on forums for abuse, etc.

  • Emails already used by another user. We check for the "." and "+" tricks and normalize emails. This means that the email, "[email protected]", "[email protected]", "[email protected]", and "[email protected]", will all be seen to TorBox as "[email protected]", meaning that all of those emails will be denied after the first sign up. You may sign up using these "tricks" for the first time, but afterwards, TorBox will catch any other email like it.

  • Emails that are not deliverable. This means that the specified email has to be set up for receiving and sending mail to be valid.

Just don't try to play the system, it's a waste of time for you. The API will simply deny and deny and deny you access, no temp emails will work.

Some of these changes were implemented recently, so if you have an account with a temporary email, we will not be allowing email changes any longer.
